Tourism industry has become a campaign in Nepal in 2007 as it has been flourishing after the peace process started in Nepal. Various positive things emerged in tourism sector in Nepal during 2007.
The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), which is the government affiliated organization for the promotion of tourism in the country, has been taking initiatives to introduce tourism sector in Nepal as a brand in the international arena. The motto ‘Naturally Nepal Once It Is Not Enough’ is an attempt to introduce Nepal in the world tourism market. The motto not only reflects Nepalese identity and product but it also touches the hearts of tourists visiting Nepal. Arrival of tourists to Nepal is on the rise after the end to the armed conflict and peace process going on in the country. With the rise in the arrival of the tourists, the numbers of foreign airlines extending to flights to Nepal have also increased. As a result, tourists are getting additional facilities with the operation of various foreign airlines to Nepal. The end of the Maoists’ armed conflict, restoration of peace and hopes of political stability are the major reasons behind the arrivals of foreign airlines in Nepal. Nepal is full of natural beauty and there are different possibilities of tourism. The government is also trying to do something in this sector.
The attempts made for the construction of an international airport in the Neejgarh of Bara district and the act of releasing budget for the extension of Pokhara and Lumbini airports are positive initiatives taken by the government for the promotion of tourism in the country. The government has urged Nepalis living in foreign countries to contribute to the tourism sector. It has introduced the campaign of “Send a Friend Home”. Various types of fairs and festivals that are being organized time and again are playing vital role to promote the campaigns of increasing trend of attracting tourists to Nepal. Nepal Tourism Board has been taking part in fair and festivals, which are being organized in international level frequently. Nepal attended some half a dozen of such festivals organized for the publicity of Nepalese tourism industry in the world during 2007. New committees have been formed in various organizations related to tourism sectors including Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), Nepal Association of Rafting Agents (NARA), Nepal Association of Travel and Tour Agents (NATTA) and Nepal Mountaineering Association in 2007. There are new appointments to NTB chief executive officer and its vice chairperson during 2007. These new committees and appointments hint that the tourism sector will go on a new track of achievement and progress in the days to come. Though the NAC has two jet planes, only one of them operated its flight during the 2007, however, its service was not regular. The plight of NAC contributed nothing except pessimism to the tourism entrepreneurs. Some 5 lakh tourists visited Nepal in 1998 due to the launch of Visit Nepal Year’98, the figure was 491504 in 1999, 463646 in 2000; 361237 in 2001; 275468 in 2002; 338132 in 2003; 385297 in 2004; 375398 in 2005 and 383926 in 2006. The number of tourists coming to Nepal by air was 330445 till November 2007. This shows that the number of the arrival of tourists visiting Nepal has increased compared to the last year. This is a positive signal for the development in tourism in Nepal. Though the number of tourists had been more, this could not make the tourism sector sustainable in the long term. The government has to lay emphasis on developing the necessary infrastructures of the tourism for this. All the star-hotels in the county were full of tourists in the season during 2007. In a sense, there was lack of hotels, lodge and restaurants for the tourists in Nepal during 2007. In such a context, there is the need of extending the prevailing facilities and strength of the infrastructures of tourism sector. There is no doubt that if the number of the tourists arriving in Nepal sustain for the years to come, the tourism sector will certainly be a major source of income in the country. It necessary to give an impression that Nepal is a safe destination for tourists. Nepal is still depicted as an unsafe place for tourists in the travel advisory of different countries. This has made tourists to feel unsafe to visit Nepal.
Therefore, the government and concerned authority have to show concern by taking attempts to correct the prevailing travel advisories that are spreading adverse impact of Nepali tourism in the international market.
The government has to take necessary initiatives for the development of necessary infrastructures of tourism by drafting long-term plans.
As the tourism sector helps greatly to strengthen the national economy, there is a need for protection and promotion of this sector from all sides.

This is a really disgusting thing in my life i have been facing in Malaysia since i enter here as a foriegn worker. Malaysia is the only country where 3 hundred thousand nepali working as a leagallly or illigally. We must admire the government of this country what they have done and what they are gaining from many foreign workers.
It is not of my business to dig it. Here in Malaysia you can get many types of Nepalies some are religious, some politicians, some named as a journalist, singer,dancer and many many. Sometimes it feels like we have lost a many good guy too but sometimes it feel it is okey to them who r just a burden.
Today i am going to discuss is about betting. We can name it as a gambling too. In here Malaysia many Malays or chines they love football and they got a loads of betting too. So being curious and intelligent nepali guys too follow the path.They bet their whole one month struggle salary in betting whether it is ” English Premiere League” or “Spanish”. But it is ok to bet the most funny thing is now guys have to bet in every thing when they are not satisfied with each others thoughts or feeling.
As we know now Election is heading near in Our country. We got many hopes and many feelings thought about it but……….Here now guys are betting for it too. I mean now they are betting their salary for nepali Parties some “Congress” some “Maoist”. They are debating this party will lost this will win……….. what a joke . You can just imagine how will be our country future when the youth are betting in such things. Being drunk, fighting, Prostitution are major things in here but who will show them a pth……………………………
